Heart/Cardiovascular Ailments

The rampant cause of the deaths worldwide is rooted in the diseases related to heart that occur due to age, tobacco, smoking, family history, lack of physical activity, air pollution, etc.

But the two major factors resulting in heart related diseases are high blood pressure and cholesterol.

High Blood Pressure
One of the major risk factors for heart attack is High Blood Pressure, also known as Hypertension.

It is a chronic medical disorder in which the blood pressure in the arteries reaches a higher level, forcing the heart to work harder than usual in order to circulate the blood through the blood vessels.

It is also responsible for chronic kidney disease, blood clotting and stroke.

Blood pressure is bifurcated into two categories, primary, or essential hypertension, and secondary hypertension.

When the blood pressure increases with the number of angiotensinogen (AGT) gene, it causes primary hypertension while endocrine diseases, kidney diseases, tumors and medication side-effects like steroids have been examined as the cause for secondary hypertension.

Mounting Cholesterol

Another culprit to the heart ailments is Cholesterol.

It is the substance created and used again by our body to make us healthy.

Though it is an inseparable part of the body and resides in every human, a high level of cholesterol can be risky too.

It varies from good to bad type of cholesterol.

“Good” cholesterol is known as HDL (high-density lipoprotein) while “bad” cholesterol is known as LDL (low-density lipoprotein).

The heart faces difficulty when too much of LDL cholesterol circulates in the blood and clogs the arteries.

HDL, the good cholesterol, helps keep away the LDL from getting blocked in the arteries.

A balanced, nutritious diet is useful for improving the level of good cholesterol which will further keep the heart healthy.
